Which League do I want to be in?

TASK provides 2 different leagues of soccer.

  • Recreation Soccer is the league most of players participate in. This is for players between the ages of 3 and 19. This is a program that runs from May through June and typically involves 1 practice per week and 1 game per week during the season. This is a great league to learn the game and have fun playing soccer.
  • Classic/Select is a more competitive league. This league is open to players over the age of 10. Teams will have practices throughout the year and play in the East Central Soccer District league. This league if for people who want to take soccer to the next level.

So Which League is right for me?

Each league has is a little different, so the right league depends on you.

  • Rec leagues are significantly cheaper.
  • Classic leagues require a significant time commitment.
  • You must tryout for a classic league team!
  • Classic leagues typically play against stronger competition

Remember, each league is lots of fun, but the time and monitary commitments are different. Joining either league does not guarantee success or failure at the high school or collge level. The odds of a child playing professional soccer from Seymour are about the same as winning the Powerball, no matter which league they join. Make the decision that is best for you and your family. If you need more information, talk to any member of the TASK board.
